Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet lands at Verizon on July 17

Verizon has just announced that it’s going to be exclusively selling the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet starting on July 17. It will go up for pre-order tomorrow.

If you want to get the five-month old tablet from the carrier, you’ll need to shell out $499.99 and sign a two-year contract as you’d expect.

That apparently is a limited time offer, as at some point the price will go up to $599.99. Strangely though, Verizon hasn’t said exactly when that will happen.

Regardless, the thing to remember here is that if the Xperia Z2 Tablet sounds good for you, you should probably grab one as soon as possible – that is, if you can stomach the price. If you pre-order one, you’ll receive a Sony digital noise canceling headset for free.

The Xperia Z2 Tablet was unveiled alongside the similarly named smartphone back in February during MWC. It’s Sony’s latest high-end tablet, and it comes with decent specs. It’s got a 10.1-inch touchscreen with 1920×1200 resolution, and it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.3 GHz quad-core CPU that’s aided by 3GB of RAM. It supports 4G networks and is XLTE-ready.
