Samsung announces Chromebook 2 with Exynos 5 Octa processor

After leaking out yesterday, the Samsung Chromebook 2 got officially announced. The Chrome OS notebook will be available in April with a choice of 11.6” or 13.3” display.

Powered by an Exynos 5 Octa processor, the Samsung Chromebook 2 features the same stitched faux leather look as the Korean giant’s latest Android smartphones and tablets. The device will be available in Jet Black or Classic white for the 11.6” version, and Luminous Titan Gray for the 13.3” model.

The 11.6” version of the device will have a screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and 1.9GHz CPU cores, while the 13.3” model will feature Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 2.1GHz CPUs.

Both versions of the Chromebook 2 will ship with 4GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in memory. MicroSD card slot, 720p web camera, HDMI port, and USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port complete the highlights of both devices’ spec sheets.

When available, the Samsung Chromebook 2 will cost $319.99 for the 11.6” version, and $399.99 for the 13.3” model.
