Motorola new RAZR lineup gets rooted

A bunch of Motorola’s latest droids got rooted thanks to the xda-developers user djrbliss.

The devices which have the newly found exploit (called MotorFail2go) are DROID RAZR M, Atrix HD, Photon Q, RAZR HD and the x86-based RAZR i.

If you own any of the ARM-based Motorola droid listed above you are just a few taps away from getting root access on your smartphone. Things are a bit more complicated on the RAZR i due to its x86 nature.

If you want go get full access to your Motorola smartphone you’ll need a Windows-running computer, the proper USB drivers and this file. Just don’t forget to backup your phone and know this will void your warranty.
