LaCie outs Porsche Design Mobile Drive with USB-C

Hot on the heels of the new MacBook’s debut, the manufacturer of digital storage solutions LaCie launched an external hard drive with USB-C connector. The metal-clad storage solution is designed by Porsche Design, so it is certain to perfectly complement the sleek new notebook.

The LaCie Porsche Design Mobile Drive will be available with 500GB, 1TB, or 2TB of built-in storage. A bundled adapter cable ensures backward compatibility with Type-A USB 3.0 and USB 2.0.

The drive is capable of up to 100MB/s via USB 3.0. As an Apple-friendly product, it is compatible with the Time Machine feature of OS X.

LaCie hasn’t announced pricing of the sleek new gadget just yet. We do however know that the Porsche Design Mobile Drive will have a two-year warranty.
