LG G Pad 7.0 specs uncovered through unofficial means

LG has the irksome habit of announcing stuff with just a photo and virtually no specs, the same thing happened with the three new LG G Pad tablets. We have to resort to sources like AnTuTu for specifications of the LG G Pad 7.0 as if it’s a rumored, unofficial device.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (SM-T800) flaunts its AMOLED display in FCC photos

A new set of Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 photos has surfaced thanks to the FCC. The photos show the tablet from different angles and not just from the front and rear as the first batch we saw a few days ago.

In addition to the new photos, the FCC also provides measurements of the tablet, carrying the model name SM-T800. It measures 246.5mm wide and 176.4mm tall. Sadly, thickness isn’t specified yet, but by the looks of it, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is quite slim. Read more »

Lenovo unveils ThinkPad 10 Windows 8 Pro tablet and accessories

In January this year Lenovo unveiled the ThinkPad 8, a Windows 8-powered tablet. Now it revealed the ThinkPad 10, you guessed it a 10″ version of the tablet. It has a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution, a quad-core Atom processor (Bay Trail) and 64-128GB of built-in storage (plus what you put in the microSD card slot).

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 gets Android 4.4 KitKat

Samsung may be busy transitioning its tablet lineup to AMOLED screens and expanding it with new sizes, but it hasn’t completely forgotten about the devices it already has. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, which once was a premium mid-sized tablet is starting to receive its Android 4.4 KitKat update across the globe.

The Korean version was the first to get the boost, but only a few hours later the international version joined the fun with Poland the first market to receive it. Unless there are unexpected issues with the update, all Galaxy Note 8.0 units should follow suit shortly. Read more »

Samsung responsible for 62% of Apple iPad display supply in Q1

A report conducted by DisplaySearch states that Samsung was the largest supplier of iPad displays in the first quarter of the year. In spite of the ruthless legal battle between the two companies, Samsung Display shipped 5.2 million 9.7″ iPad display panels.

This accounts for 62% of the total shipment of such displays, which are used in the iPad Air and iPad 4. The other company that is handling the iPad’s display production is LG. Read more »

New Android tablets may be incoming from HP

Evleaks posted a number of images of HP tablets, though it turns out some of those are already official. Still, there are at least two new tablets among the images, possibly three.

One is very characteristic – a spitting image of the HTC One (M8). It looks quite similar to the HP Slate7 VoiceTab, except the front-facing camera is positioned differently. Read more »
