Facebook Messenger gets iPad support

Facebook has been pushing hard to become a top player in the messaging game. The company has recently purchased WhatsApp, took a page out of Snapchat’s book with Slingshot, and made its messenger available for Windows Phone.

Samsung releases TV spot highlighting the Super AMOLED screen on the Tab S

Windows 9 will be a shape-shifting OS

Windows 8 has come under a lot of fire for not being desktop computer friendly. Sure the tile approach may work for tablets, but the experience just doesn’t translate well to a mouse and keyboard set-up. Users made their discontent be known: they wanted their desktop experience back.

Nvidia promises Android L update for the Tegra Note 7

Nividia spokesperson has confirmed to Fudzilla that the company’s Tegra Note 7 tablet unveiled back in February is definitely going to receive an update to Android L.

The Tegra Note 7 is powered by the Tegra 4 chipset and came with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Currently, the tablet is updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but no exact date has been provided as to when the update to L might come. Read more »

So Tegra Note 7 devices already had their Android 4.4.2 updates primed and ready to go from NVIDIA about four months ago, and just now the HP Slate 7 Extreme received the update.

Despite being nearly identical to other Tegra Note 7 tablets, (like the EVGA Tegra Note 7, for example), 4.4.2 has just now been made available for HP’s tablet. Read more »

Panasonic unveils a couple of extremely rugged 5-inch tablets

A 5-inch tablet might seem rather odd in this day and age, but Panasonic has just announced two of them. One runs Android, the other is powered by Windows 8.1 Embedded Handheld, and they’re both extremely expensive.

On the other hand, they’re also both incredibly rugged, being able to withstand drops onto concrete from up to ten feet. In fact, they go beyond even the military standard MIL-STD-810G in terms of how resistant they are to the elements or accidents. Read more »

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is anything but easy to repair

In what’s clearly becoming a trend for Microsoft’s tablet line, the Surface Pro 3 has been torn down and found to be almost impossible to repair.
