Now that we are through with our Sony Xperia C review, we took our time to detail its battery test routine.
The Xperia C runs on a low-powered quad-core Cortex-A7 processor and relies on a 2,390mAh battery unit. Even though it has a big screen to light up, we still expected some good scores because of its efficient chipset and relatively low resolution. And we weren’t disappointed. Read more »
The N1 proved to be a worthy phablet in Oppo’s premium market segment’s lineup and it’s now time to dig into the battery life breakdown.
The Oppo N1 opts for a big, bright and high-res 5.9″ screen but also brings a monstrous 3610 mAh battery to compensate. That, to put it in perspective, is more than the 3200 mAh of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the HTC One Max’s 3300 mAh, the Nokia Lumia 1520′s 3400 mAh and the Sony Xperia Z Ultra’s 3050 mAh. Let’s see how it did. Read more »
The Galaxy Ace 3 comes in as the most recent member of Samsung’s budget Ace lineup, bringing dual-SIM connectivity and a 4-inch screen to the entry level.
Our dual-SIM variant of the Galaxy Ace 3 features a 1,500 mAh battery, which is the same capacity as its non dual-SIM predecessor, the Galaxy Ace 2. Let’s see if the updated Jelly Bean build is able to compensate for the extra power required by the additional SIM card. Read more »
The LG Nexus 5 comes with a battery that many were afraid wasn’t up to scratch with the 5″ 1080p screen and quad-core Snapdragon 800 and that Google and LG did some corner cutting by placing a mere 2300 mAh unit inside.
Quoted at 17 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of stand-by the Nexus 5 should do alright, but we decided to give the device a full test just to make sure. Read more »
Being the latest BlackBerry smartphone amidst the company’s troublesome times is a daunting task and the Canadians are placing high bets on Z30. We already did our review of the business 5-incher and concluded that it packs a strong feature set, but now we’ll find out if the phone’s battery life will follow suit.
Packing a display of 5 inches brings some a number of benefits to the smartphone, one of them being the ability to carry a larger 2880 mAh battery. Read more »
The Meizu MX3 review is complete and it’s come time to get into the details of the phone’s battery life. This is merely the fourth smartphone the likable Chinese phonemaker has put out, and it comes in as an all-round update of its predecessor, the MX2.
From the display to the CPU, to the design, to the software, everything has been revamped. This also includes the battery. Whereas the Meizu MX2 boasted a 1800mAh battery, its successor now has a 2400mAh unit. This is a big jump that should provide a solid boost in battery life all the while giving power to the hungry Exynos 5410 octa core chip and 1080p display. Read more »
HTC One Max is powered by a massive 3,300mAh battery that in theory should give you enough juice for 24 days of standby or a whole day of 3G talks.
Those are some impressive stats indeed, but we are now about to test if they translate to actually great real-life performance. The wait is over, all the tests are run and the results are in. Read more »
The Acer Liquid E2 also known by its V370 alias has come to our office sporting a very respectable spec sheet for a very reasonable price. It has an 8 MP camera on the back, quad-core CPU with four Cortex-A7 cores, 1 GB of RAM and a 4.5″ display of qHD (960 x 540) resolution.
All of that is powered by a 2000 mAh battery and we decided to check out just how much juice the Acer Liquid E2 has before it goes under and to do that we put it through our rigorous mix of calling, browsing and watching video, coupled with an overnight stand-by to determine what sort of endurance rating the Liquid E2 has. The tech season is as heated as it gets and with our Apple iPhone 5s review now served, it’s time to turn our heads to the battery life of Apple’s latest smartphone. On the outside, not much has changed compared to the iPhone 5, but on the inside there’s an all new A7 64-bit processor as well as a slightly larger battery – 1,560 mAh compared to the iPhone 5 1,440mAh.
We are yet to see how those affect real live performance, and how they perform under iOS 7, which is said to be as power-efficient as possible. Read more »
The latest BIG thing from Samsung is already here. We are done with our in-depth review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and the battery torture test has completed, too. Samsung made sure the beast has enough juice to last for quite a bit, supplying a huge 3200mAh battery.
The Galaxy Note 3 features a supposedly very efficient 5.7″ Super AMOLED screen of 1080p resolution and runs on the fastest chipset available – the Snapdragon 800. Android 4.3 is charge of operation, though Samsung’s customizations run deep and the TouchWiz goodies are all over the place. Read more »
Our review of the colorful Apple iPhone 5c is now live. We also put the iPhone 5c through our battery tests routine and it produced some interesting scores.
Even though the iPhone 5c battery rating turned out pretty much the same as the iPhone 5, there are some differences in the individual parts that have to be pointed out. Read more »
The HTC Desire 500 is running on the Snapdragon 200 platform, which should be rather easy on its battery. The trade-off is low performance, but that’s not what we are discussing in this blogpost.
Behind the back cover of the Desire 500 lies a 1,800mAh battery, which is at least on par with most rivals in the same market space. Android 4.1.2 and the Sense 5 UI on top of it are going to be heavily relied on to ensure the Desire 500 lasts as long as possible. Read more »
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is for the majority of the company’s fans the best smartphone to have come out of the Nokia-Microsoft partnership so far. It has presumably the best display Nokia currently makes, as well as presumably the best camera that’s even been fitted to a smartphone.
We have yet to test those on our dedicated review, but one thing we did already test is battery life.
A 2,000mAh battery doesn’t sound like much, but it powers a frugal dual-core processor and an AMOLED display. Combine this with the efficient Windows Phone 8 OS, and the Lumia 1020 promises to be a long-distance runner in our battery life test. Read more »
The Nokia Lumia 625 arrives as one of the final Lumia smartphones from Nokia, and looks to build on the name set forth by the budget-range Lumia 620.
This time around the device sports a larger display at 4.7-inches, but also features a 2000 mAh battery. With such a hefty battery having to only power a dual-core device, we expected great battery perfomance and the Lumia 625 delivered. Read more »
The Sony Xperia Z1 draws the crowds with an impressive camera and powerful chipset, but it’s also worth mentioning that the slender phone packs a large battery as well. It’s got a 3,000mAh fuel tank capacity, let’s see if it will go longer than the Xperia Z Ultra, which has virtually the same size battery (and chipset too), but proved to be a bit disappointing.
Well, the smaller screen should make a big difference (that’s 40% less surface area), but will that be enough? Read more »
