Asus CEO says ZenWatch successor won’t hit the market until next year

The ZenWatch successor will not be launched until 2016, according to Asus CEO Jerry Shen, who made the comment during the ZenFone 2 India launch event. It’s worth mentioning that back in December last year, Shen had said that the smartwatch, tipped to be called the ZenWatch 2, will be released in Q3 2015,

He also revealed that the wearable will be available in two variants, one for men and the other for women. It is, however, not yet known whether the devices will have different designs or just different straps for customization.

Shen also confirmed that the Taiwanese company is working on its own smartwatch OS, although he made it clear that they will continue using Android Wear in future.
