Android L smartphones may support multiple user accounts

Google might bring support for multiple users to smartphones with Android L. The feature was somewhat confirmed by a Google project member in an official developer forum.

In a discussion thread regarding multiuser functionality in Android handsets, the Google employee posted the following reply to forum members:

“The development team has implemented this feature and it will be available as a part of the next public build.”

While the above statement is anything but specific, it is fairly safe to guess that “the next public build” refers to Android L. Already available on Android tablets, the multiuser feature will surely make owners of Android smartphones a tad less wary of leaving their devices to others, especially children.
