$100 price cut of HP TouchPad goes permanent, 16GB model price is now $399

There’s a saying that goes “there’s nothing more permanent than a temporary fix”. Luckily for everyone who wanted an HP TouchPad, but missed the one weekend only $100 discount, the discount has been made permanent.

The 9.7″ WebOS tablet used to go for $499.99 and $599.99 for the 16GB and 32GB models respectively, which was rather pricy. All retailers of the TouchPad have since made the offer standard so buyers can enjoy the lower prices now in the long run.

The 16GB iPad is priced at $499.99 and is undeniably the more popular product, which puts the TouchPad at a disadvantage. With the $100 cut, the price is now more competitive or, depending on how you look at it, you get 16GB extra storage for free.

Hit HP’s site if you’re interested in the TouchPad. There you’ll also find links to all retailers who offer the webOS tablet, if you don’t want to purchase it from HP directly.
